 What is this all about?

Borisware by Kremlin Software supports raw data retrieval from SBS-1 and Radarbox. Boris has created units that act as a "man-in-the middle" between the box and the display application software, be it Basestation for SBS-1 or Airnav software. This can also be called a Y-adapter, because a stream is split into two.

Before the raw data stream enters the display application it is captured by Borisware and output on separate ports. The ports are using the TCP protocol. From there raw data may be used by third party applications. Raw data are the data exactly as sent from the aircraft, albeit with some format additions by the manufacturer.

In parallel Borisware continues to send the original data stream to the display application, so you will not notice a change in behaviour or display there.

Borisware is available for USB (Vodka) and Ethernet (Ethernetovich) connected devices.

USB devices:
Technically Borisware simulates part of a system DLL (ftd2xx.dll) that comes with the USB driver set. The original DLL is renamed and still needs to be present. The renamed DLL in the package of this page may be obsolete. You can try newer versions by just renaming ftd2xx.dll to the appropriate name and drop it to the application folder, overwriting the version from the package.
Please read the README files that is enclosed with every package.

Some of Boris' friends have interfaced the Basestation display software to AVR receiver output. The software com2tcp acts as a proxy where you connect with USB and the output is to Basestation (see README.TXT included). THIS SOFTWARE IS ALPHA AND PROOF OF CONCEPT ONLY.
